The cheapest machine with a 10W optical power laser is the Comgo Z1. It cost only 350$ and my review of this machine is available here. In my opinion, one of the best engraver for price/quality ratio ever!
Only a few brands offer this option, one of these is NEJE which also has an engraver capable of working on 81cm x 46cm surfaces. This is the Neje 3 MAX with 10W laser that has a very competitive price (considering it has the drag chain).
This kind of power is currently not achievable with diode technology, so you have to choose a CO2 laser machine. These machines are generally more expensive, larger, and more complex to use and most of them use their own control software.
Please note that LightBurn does not support the stock M2-Nano board in the popular K40 laser. This board does not offer control of power through software - we recommend upgrading the board to take full advantage of LightBurn.

This software includes all drivers, so you need to install it and you can start engraving/cutting. It's very simple to use and already has some example pictures. On the top of it, you have two tabs - Print picture and NC sender. Print picture is for normal engraving. NC sender is for cutting but also for engraving you can design some images for it by clicking create NC file. After click you will see inkscape this is very nice program for drawing. You can draw what you like and go to Path -> object to path and then extensions -> laserengraver -> laser. Set speed and name of a file click apply and it will open automaticly in laser engraver program.
Hi I have a dk-8-kz 1000mw laser engraver that ran great for a day but now I can't get it to connect to the software, it shows in device manager and I have downloaded the software from the web site but still no luck any Ideas Thanks!
Hello, I recently purchased a Chinese DIY laser and flashed ATMEGA328P with GRBL. When I run a job in Lightburn there is XY movement but the laser does not fire up. Also when I open Lightburn the laser flickers a few times. Can anyone please help me to fire up my laser. Thank you.

Your laser may not be firing because you have somehow triggered a safety feature. The most common reason a laser does not fire (when power is on) is because the lid is open. As a safety feature, the lid has a magnetic fail safe that disconnects the laser when the lid is open. this will be indicated by your touch screen display like so:
Be sure your lid is closed when you try to fire the laser. If the lid is closed and the laser still does not fire, check that the lid magnet is touching the proper base magnet and that wires are connected.
4. Fasten the material you will be working with on the bed, and use the arrows on the movement tab in LightBurn, move the laser in to place. To assist yourself in positioning, you can set your laser to fire at 0.0% to have it running while you find the corner of your materials. Not that this feature might have to be enabled in your software settings.

Yes, I guessed something like that, as there are articles on the web about using destilled water or deionized water. The point is to avoid current flowing throught he water or causing extras discharge, so removing ions is deemed essential. If using destilled (more expensive) or deionized seems not to make much difference.As for BBQ combined with a laser cutter: not really sure I want to go down that route. I have seen some articles about engraving things into a brisket/etc. The laser focus is very narrow (still need to exactly determine that focal point). I think using iron branding would be a better way than using a laser cutter/engraver for this
I ususally create the box with that software, then import it into Inkskape and modify it. That way that box in -oled-mini-weather-station-with-esp8266/ has been created.I do not recommend laser cutting PCBs or copper: this can damage the laser, plus the fumes can be dangerous too. But there are many articles on the web on that topic, including -etching-pcbs/And be very carefule with chlorine: this is very dangerous!
Thanks for your comments! Not sure if they are the same seller, this is sometimes not clear at all. The machine -graveer-machine-lite/ looks similar because many of these machines are built from the same base parts. Check out my other articles on this machine, e.g. I have upgraded it ( -laser-cutter-upgrades/) and I highly recommend such a cooler even if it is nearly as expensive as the machine.
