[S8E13] The Greater Good

It's hard to know who to root for sometimes. Cahill is a complex guy, breaks some rules, looks the other way sometimes, but he does have a moral code and ultimately is trying to do \"the greater good\". Same with Harvey and the rest, I suppose. They're mostly self-absorbed assholes, but they saved the jobs of \"hundreds of innocent people\" so whatever deals had to be made, whatever laws had to be broken, was worth it (maybe). Pavonotti was also (mostly) for the greater good, but he chose the blackmail route, which is the reason Cahill came down on him.
I've included both the UK and US dubs of the episodes in the selection, so you can pick whichever one you want whenever you check it out. Feel free to voice your thoughts; if you agree with me, good for you, and if you disagree, that's also great.
But the townspeople refuse to accept Maybourne's resignation, saying that the prophecy will come true like all the others and holding other, non-prophecy related achievements (introducing irrigation, crop rotation, a new legal code) as examples of his great leadership. As a career bureaucrat and later a NID mole, Maybourne has always been a thief, a liar, a scoundrel; in short, an object of scorn, even by his supposed allies. But on this world, no matter how selfish his reasons, he has helped people, and been praised for that help. Maybourne is struck speechless by their loyalty, and the SGC team is struck just as speechless by the concept that Maybourne just might be a good man. O'Neill is too bewildered by the whole affair, and decides to pull out. However, it is too late; Ares's First Prime Trelak and several Jaffa have arrived.
His first appearance on Gunsmoke (1955) as Festus Haggen was entitled \"Us Haggens\" s8e13 on Dec 08, 1962. His very first appearance on Gunsmoke was as a character named Jesse Turnball in the episode \"Exurbanites,\" s5e30 on 31 January 1959.
Meredith puts Zola back in her crib, after which she crawls back into bed. She falls asleep wondering what her life would've looked like if she was raised differently, if her mother never would've gotten sick and if she'd have had a good father. That question is answered.
Everyone walks out, except Meredith. She stays behind and starts kissing Alex passionately. They had a rule about kissing in the hospital, but the ring just makes her look extra good. Her mother loved the engagement, as she adores him. Alex says that took her a while, but Meredith says she knows he was a jerk before he met her. Ellis didn't know there was a good guy in there, but Meredith did. She loves the engagement, and him as well. They continue kissing.
After the meeting, Owen takes the kids to daycare. Addison joins Callie and comments he's good with the kids. She asks how he's doing. He's better and she thinks they're past it. That's great, Addison says, because she heard it can be a hard road coming back. None of them knows what he went through out there, but Callie says he does Skype with some of his old buddies that are still in Iraq and this guy, Teddy, seems to be helping him through it. And he hasn't had another episode since that one. So anyway, he's good, and they're good now. Addison says she doesn't know how she does it with the kids, but Callie gestures at her belly and says she'll find out soon enough. Callie says she and Derek will be fine, as they're perfect together. As she walks away, Addison smile fades.
Richard tells Derek that all Ellis is saying is that she wants him to use his full potential. They arrive at the elevator, where Richard greets his daughter. Richard asks about a clinical trial, but Derek says he has no time for that as his baby is coming. Richard thinks it'll do him good. He leaves, leaving Meredith and Derek alone together. Meredith enthusiastically greets him, but barely gets response. As she begins to try to start a conversation, he walks away. \"What an ass,\" she says.
At another table, Miranda is explaining to Callie that Ellis' plan won't work, as she will try to use the iliac veins, but they won't be useful due to the patient's extended thrombosis. Callie isn't paying attention; she's watching Arizona talk to Dr. Atterman, some ortho surgeon. Callie states that she wanted to go into ortho, but she didn't because Ellis told her she was good for cardio. Meredith comes over and she asks if she can do the thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, as Yang has already done two, while she has only done one, so it's only fair. Callie says she knows what her residents need, and thus refusing. Meredith comments that her mother suggested she ask her, which makes Callie change her mind. She proposes she and Yang split it, so she and Yang can do it together. Meredith thanks her and walks away. \"Whatever Ellis Grey wants,\" Bailey says, to which Callie agrees. Bailey says Yang won't like it, but it's better than kicking her off the case. \"Bitch scares me,\" Callie says looking at Yang.
Bailey gets on an elevator. Alex is in the corner, crying. He says he screwed up. He had a good thing, he had a chance to be better and he screwed it up like he does every time. \"I just lost my job. Do you see me crying\" she asks, finally having found her strength and not being shy anymore. She has no idea what to do next, but she's not hiding whimpering about it. Now she asks him what they say. \"We create our own destiny,\" they say together. That's exactly what she's going to do, and he should too.
Back at the hospital, Mr. Johannsen and the psychics are released from prison, along with Yates and Cartman, and praise Kyle as the real psychic. Kyle then tells them that there are no psychics and says that there is a logical explanation for every psychic story ever heard. Yates says it does not really matter now since he stopped the crime using good old fashioned police work. The other \"psychics\", however, decide to reignite their conflict with Cartman, and engage in a \"final battle\". But just as they begin to gesticulate and vocalize as if acting out a psychic duel, Kyle yells at them to stop, at which point the light bulbs in the room explode and some electronic devices fall off their shelf. Kyle is surprised, but asserts that there must be some logical explanation for this while everyone looks at him with raised eyebrows.
House is presenting the case to his team. In addition to his other symptoms, the patient was running a fever. However, all the tests the emergency room did were normal. The team discusses the patient's philosophy that men should act more like women. House thinks it's impossible. His team comes up with some ideas and collectively agree that a D-Dimer test would be a good idea. At this point, House announces he's going to appoint someone team leader. At that moment, Dominika waves at House on the way to his office. Chase updates Adams and Park that Dominika is House's wife.
Chase goes to Foreman to tell House to drop the whole team leader thing, but Foreman thinks it's a good idea. It soon becomes obvious that Chase thinks he's the only qualified person. Foreman realizes that Chase doesn't want the job, but doesn't want anyone else to have it either.
Park uses a green screen and computer to fake vacation pictures. The rest of the team, except for Taub, is still jockeying for the team leader position. However, Taub comes up with the only good idea myasthenia gravis. House agrees, compliments him on being team leader material, and orders immunoglobulin and plasmapheresis.
House tells his team that they have all had good and bad ideas this week, so he plans a series of competitions to see who gets to be team leader between Adams, Park and Chase. They start off with suturing.
Best episode of Season Eight so far Most definitely. This episode featured all the best bits about the TV show, in a perfectly executed episode. Pace, characters, story and action for good measure made this an exhilarating instalment of The Walking Dead.

If there was a challenge to do a modern take on a Rocky Horror Picture Show character, and Gretchen chose Columbia, I think this would have been fantastic. Unfortunately, she thought it would be a good idea to put a black and mustard tuxedo jacket and giant underwear together as an allegedly fashionable look; for this transgression, there is no forgiveness.
From his hospital bed, Taylor asks Tutuola what happened. Tutuola tells him he picked the wrong time to get off the elevator explaining a guy in a PCP rage took him out. After explaining where he was, Taylor remembers the envelope. Tutuola assures him he got the envelope. Taylor explains a guy on the street wearing shades and a winter jacket with the hood up gave him $50 to deliver it. He was told the money was all he needed for an explanation. He pulls the bill from his pocket saying he knew it was too good to be true.
In the squad room, the team watches a tape of Millstead talking to Diego. He asks him to remember 3 words before talking to him about school, which he is struggling. Munch explains the mini DV tapes were found under a floorboard in Millstead's apartment. When Novak tells him she does not need to see the boy being abused on camera, Munch assures her it is G-rated before continuing the tape. Before allowing him to go, Millstead asks for the words. Even though Diego repeats the wrong ones, Millstead tells him he did good. Munch tells them they have over 200 sessions of Diego and the other kids at the hospital. Munch informs them Millstead was getting quarterly checks from EHD Associates. He explains the company does research for chemical companies, but the offices and bank accounts disappeared two days prior. He explains the chemical in the basement is an experimental pesticide that EHD Associates is paying Millstead to test it on the kids in the building and the tapes are evidence of the long-term effects on the kids. When Tutuola tells him the thought is out there even for him, Munch points out that Millstead was listed as a consultant with the company. 59ce067264
