Realtek Rtl8111e Driver Debian

I stumbled across this tutorial/post after hours of trying to fix the same issue. After downloading the drivers released last week on the realtek site, I followed your direction and it solved the issue. Thanks Again

I think the ubuntu 16.04 repos now use 8.041 (from r8168-dkms) which of course fails anytime after 10 seconds to 10 days. Uninstalling r8168-dkms and using the drivers from realtek with 8.042 have solved my problem.

First time posting here, I just installed OMV last week and I was having trouble with autoshutdown and I noticed booting up was taking a long time too. I saw some threads here that led me to realize it was the realtek driver but no there was solution so I wanted to share what I did to fix my problem. I finally have OMV working 100% to my liking and can kick Windows 10 to the curb.

Kudos to realtek for addressing the problem and releasing a driver and script for easier install. Download GBE Ethernet LINUX driver r8168 for kernel up to 5.6, unzip the files and make the autorun.sh file executable by doing a chmod +x autorun.sh

hello i have a question is it possible to change the name of the driver because im sure that i use to have realtek pcie gbe family controller but now i have realtek gbe gaming family controller. i did a system restore thats when the name of the controller change im i crazy crazy or it possible 2 change it 1e1e36bf2d
