Stormbringer can appear as a sacrifice gift for chaotic characters, and is also the chaotic crowning gift. It is not randomly generated, since runeswords are not generated outside of wishes or bones.[1]
Stormbringer is a weapon featured in a number of fantasy stories from author Michael Moorcock featuring Elric of Melniboné. Stormbringer is a cursed daemon sword with a will of its own and a hunger for souls, which it instills into Elric and frequently torments him with by using the bloodlust it creates to make him kill his friends and loved ones - Elric hates the sword, but is too dependent on its power. It physically appears as a black sword with runes engraved deep in the blade, reflected by its appearance as a runesword in NetHack.
Stormbringer is a black, two-handed sword, covered in mysterious runes. The sword is sentient, and has been known to scream, howl or even sing in battle. It can cut through virtually any material, and can drink the soul of a human that it kills.
The sword was wielded by Elric of Melniboné, and could seek him out in any form he took. Elric was later known as Monsieur Zenith, and he still wielded the sword at this time, including when he battled Orlando on top of the Paris Opera in 1913.
The grip is textured with a diagonal spiral, which is shaped to allow for your hand. The handle is then topped by a unique spiked pommel. The textured grip itself accommodates one hand, but you could probably use the elongated pommel to grip hold the sword with both.
As we well know, swords and fantasy go together like cheese and crackers. Or peanut butter and jelly. You get the point; they work very well together. Fantasy does feature other weapons, but swords are by far the most common.
There are a few suggested reasons for this tendency in fantasy. It could be because swords were commonly status symbols in medieval times. Older fantasy works often featured lords and kings who wielded swords and perhaps the trend has continued. Or maybe swords are just cool.
In any case, swords are a fixture in fantasy. Generally, these fantasy swords are more elaborately designed than their historical counterparts. Fantasy swords are also often magical, either through an enchantment or a curse.
Frostmourne was a cursed sword with incredible powers. Specifically, it had the ability to drain the life of those it slew as well as draining the souls of anyone connected to it, wielders and victims alike. It is linked to the Lich King, who can use it to communicate with the wielder and spy through them. In this way, the wielder is corrupted by the blade and the Lich King.
However, Elric was an incredibly gifted sorcerer and an emperor, so was no stranger to power. When a rival attempted to murder him, it actually started a series of events that led to Elric and his cousin encountering two runeswords, Stormbringer and Mournblade.
This is a case of a primarily good character wielding an arguably evil weapon. Elric is heroic, but it becomes evident that Stormbringer is not. It is a massive black zweihander, etched with strange ruins and wreathed in strange light and fire. The hilt of this sword features a large eye. Even the design screams evil.
Nightblood is described as being completely black, including both the blade and the hilt. The blade itself is a double edged straight blade, which is very long and thin. It is heavier than it looks when sheathed. Nightblood is contained within an aluminium scabbard which clasps shut, preventing the sword from being easily drawn.
A group of hooded killers stalk a fleeing woman on horseback, but Conan is nearby and comes to her rescue. Just the touch of one of the hooded men's sword fells the barbarian, but before they can finish him off, a flock of giant eagles appears to chase the men away. The girl turns out to be Zephra, daughter of the wizard Zukala, who Conan met some years before. Zephra was searching him bidding his help. The wizard himself, without the power of his mask, has become a frail old man, and seeks Conan's help in defeating the evil of Kulan Gath and his henchwoman Xiombarg. He asks Conan to go to the city of Yagala, which has been transported thousands of years ago from another dimension, as a jail for the dead-but-not-so-dead body of an evil sorceress and empress. Zukala enchants Conan's sword and Zephra guides the barbarian to the city. The wizard then truns his attention to the chaos godess Xiombarg, who is preparing to send her captain, Gaynor, after Conan. Xiombarg senses Zukala's spying and breaks the connection. Some time later, Conan and Zephra encounter a traveler from Yagala's dimension - Elric of Melnibone. Conan assumes the pale rider is his enemy and attacks. Conan is unable to best the magically enhanced and armored Elric, and both parties stop fighting when they realize neither is working for Xiombarg. Suddenly, the undead forces of Gaynor attack. A vicious fight begins, only ending when Zephra uses her magic to call forth a flood of rain that washes the hellish flesh of the damned away, though Gaynor gets away. As Elric is also heading for Yagala, the three decide to travel together.
In addition to powerful magical enhancement, the sword drains levels from those it wounds. It absorbs and consumes the souls of those it slays, and such creatures can never be returned to life. The sword temporarily empowers its wielder with the energy of those it slays.
The sword has a mind of its own, and occasionally sends its wielder berserk to satisfy its desire for souls. In this state, the wielder will slay even their allies, whose souls Stormbringer particular enjoys consuming.
Stormbringer is the cursed blade wielded by the antihero Elric of Melniboné in the works of fantasy writer Michael Moorcock. It first appears in The Dreaming City (1961). It is thought to have been inspired by the Norse myth of Tyrfing, a sword cursed that it cannot be sheathed without killing, will kill its wielder's own kinsmen, and will ultimately destroy its owner.
Stormbringer, in its disguised form, is a miniature sword magnetically connected to a silver chain by its pommel. When disconnected, the sword grows larger and changes in appearance to that of a single-edged sword with a spiral design at the center of the blade that has Greek runes emblazoned into the metal. The hilt itself is made up of a fang from the nemean lion covered by enchanted oak and a slightly hooked steel pommel.
As a sword, Stormbringer is primarily meant to be used in close quarters combat with the length of the hilt allowing Anaru to wield the weapon with either one hand and a shield or both hands to deliver powerful slashes. Due to being made of both Adamantine and enchanted steel, it is capable of not only physically harming monsters and immortals but can injure mortals as well. Stormbringer is considered to be very powerful as Anaru was able to use it to block a hit from .... without any sign of damage to the blade itself and later used it to pierce a drakons scales. The most notable feature of Stormbringer is that it can be used to help focus and hone Anaru's powers.
Stormbringer is a custom sword with glowing red runes, dragon's eye ruby, and scars along it's flesh-like black blade from it's creation. It's fast, powerful, enchanted, and will heal you when you block. This dark sword is alive and will howl at the thrill of the hunt. Find the infamous Stormbringer sword in Bleak Falls Sanctum.

For adding a special ability to your weapon - This does NOT include dualswords - you need a soul crystal of matching stage and colour (depending upon the desired SA). For weapons up to B Grade, you can ask the blacksmiths in Giran and Aden for the list of possible SAs (don't wield the weapon while you ask or they will not find it) and the required colour for each of them. For A Grade and S Grade, the Blacksmith of Mammon is necessary. There are also some hundreds of gemstones required for the process.
With a brand-new cover by Jack \"The King\" Kirby, Giant-Size Conan #5 brings us back to the glory days of Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith; plotted by Michael Moorcock himself, this story combines the two greatest heroes of the sword. & sorcery genre..
Stormbringer, also called the Black Blade, the Black Sword, and the Stealer of Souls, is a legendary soul-devouring runesword. Stormbringer is fully sentient and has a malicious will of its own. It is one of two legendary Black Swords, the other being Mournblade.
Perhaps the most unsettling aspect of Stormbringer is the fact that it is alive and self-aware. The sword can be quite vocal, screaming, grumbling, howling, murmuring, moaning, and even singing at times. It is capable of slaying even gods, though it has an uncanny taste for the souls of its possessor's loved ones. 59ce067264
